Chapter 1:  The witch with the golden arm

***

The sunrise awoke Crow first.

She got up off the soft plum carpet, stretched, and looked at herself in Olivia's full length mirror.  She looked the same as usual:  Short dark walnut brown hair that made her look quite boyish, light olive complexion, bright emerald green eyes.  A dark scar going over left eye into a hook that ended on her cheek, quite close to her upper lip.  She wore a tight dark ultramarine cami and brown leggings that went to her knees.  An anklet with kanji spelling out her name on her right ankle.  Aviator goggles around her neck.

Crow sighed and sat down, then switched into a laying down position, back against the floor and looking at Olivia's bed.  She thought it was weird, to have a bed that was practically a pod that conformed to a person's shape perfectly.  Then again, she had a panic attack in anything that sealed her in tightly, so it was probably perfectly rational for her to prefer the ancient matresses than the pod beds.

Olivia stirred, the bed shifting to the change in position.  She let out a loud wince in fright, the bed shuddering as she tossed and turned.

"'Livia?"  Crow asked softly.  She stood up, and pulled the covers off her friend gently.

"...I'm sorry...I'm sorry....I'm...so...sorry...."  Olivia whispered, her body in a tight ball, tears streaming down her cheeks, her eyes closed.  Crow went to grab her shoulder to calm her down.

"Ah, Crow, you shouldn't--!"  A voice said behind her.  Unfortunately, it was too late.  Crow gently grasped Olivia's shoulder, which woke her up, causing her to sit up and instinctively grabbed her friend's wrist, her Copenhagen blue eyes filled with confusion and anger.  When she finally got her bearings, she let go and her eyes shifted to a look that said "I'm going to kill you if you touch me again" to "good morning".

"I tried to warn you, Crow."  The voice said, laughing lightly.  Crow turned around to see Isabella Flynn standing in the threshold, wearing a pale lilac housedress that clung to her hips with an ultramarine sash around her waist.  She brushed some of her black shoulder length hair out of her face.  "She doesn't take being touched while she's asleep lightly."

Crow rubbed her sore wrist slightly.  "I can tell.  Dang, you have a strong grip!"

Olivia sat up and got off her bed, a sheepish grin on her face.  "Yeah, sorry about that.  It's instinct, I guess.  Did I use my left hand?  Sorry, if I did."  She twisted her left hand around as she spoke, watching the gold shine in the early morning light.

"No, I think you used your right."  Crow said.  "You were having the dream again, weren't you?"

Olivia nodded.  She stretched, then got out her school uniform.  She wore a dark plum lace cami and black leggings that covered her thighs, which she changed out of and put on the white long-sleeved button down shirt with the pleated dark maroon skirt that went to her midthigh section.  She wore black leggings under it, and over the shirt wore a heavy jacket of the same shade as her skirt with the emblem of her school on the breast pocket.  Her carmine red and midnight black hair was still in her usual style, which was two short braids that lightly touched her shoulders.  She grabbed the small wire bracelet resting on her nightstand, placing it on her right wrist, and put a black felt glove over her left.

"Well, I'll be going now."  Olivia said to her mother and friend.  "See you later."

"Right."  Crow nodded.  "You're coming to the meeting tonight, right?"

"Of course I am."  Olivia replied.  "Why wouldn't I?"

"Hey, I was just checkin'."  Crow responded, chuckling.  "It's not everyday you have a seventeen year-old member of the Black Ravens, after all.  Most of them leave when they turn sixteen."

"Thanks for the birthday wish, Crow."  Olivia said.  "I'd better get going now.  See ya!"

As Olivia ran out of her room and down the stairs, Crow followed her, her hair turning black and growing longer.  When Olivia got out of the house, she smiled at the crow sitting on her shoulder, who flew off.  She smiled, then went to the side of the house.  She closed her eyes, and sensed to see if anybody else was in the vincinity.  Satisfied, she brought out her old purple board, gently touched the glowing symbols, then whispered, "Suspendisse imperdiet De Morsus."

The board glowed brightly, then sprouted giant white wings.  Olivia got on the board, kicked off, and with a giant woosh, flew in the opposite direction Crow went.

As she flew in the unusually warm fall air, she swept her left hand over her eyes, bringing up a light cerulean eyescreen.  She swept the edges to her ears, causing a pair of headphones to appear.  Olivia swept the eyescreen away, and gently rode to school, putting her hood over head.  As she did, she started to sing along to the song playing.  It was old, but still good.

"I forever dream within a dream
Of a certain city in the sea
As I walk the valley of unrest
Behind this mask of crimson death

I long for a loss of breath
And a most dire predicaments
Murders in the rue morgue
Silence and shadow's what I adore

I can't explain just how it feels
The thought of my premature burial
Inside this oblong box I lie
With the hopes I'll be buried alive..."

"Yo, Olivia!"  Somebody shouted up to her.  She desended on a downdraft to find her friend Darwin on a hoverboard.  He wore an uniform similar to Olivia's with the exception that the pants were dark Copenhagen instead of maroon, and his jacket was thrown onto his shoulders.  In addition, he also wore a dark maroon vest over his white button down shirt.

"What, Darwin?"  Olivia asked.

"You're singing...it's so..."  Darwin paused, a playful smirk on his face.

"Whatever.  Just enjoy it while you can, alright?"  Olivia said, and caught a thermal up, singing along to the rest of it.  She had missed the second verse, but it didn't bother her.

"Well, I'm the man who's used up
Washed up
Bricked up

Descent into maelstrom
Bedlam
Redrum

Bet the devil my head
Misled
Bloodshed

Heart under the floorboards
Beats for
Lenore
Nevermore

I can't explain just how it feels
The thought of my premature burial
Inside this oblong box I lie
With the hopes I'll be buried alive"

"It's pretty."  Darwin finished.  "But, why such a dark song?"

"It's basically about Poe."  Olivia explained.  "He wrote dark stuff.  So, naturally, the song's going to be dark."

She made a large downward spiral as she arrived at school.  Olivia liked her high school, mainly because not only was it a castle, but it was literally a castle in the sky.

A Victorian era replica, to be exact.  It was a bold metallic black, with dark sky blue tainted bay windows on the ground and second floors.  Four large spirals reached up to the sky, clear window panels wrapped around for ten metres.  The third and fourth floors had black windows, with the exception of one room on the third floor--the dark room in the photography lab.  Great black iron gates stood on faux cobblestone, and beyond them laid a small path leading up to the silver marble steps to the main entrance, bordered with various shrubbery and flowers growing out to nearly all of the main courtyard.  Standing in front of the gate, many students lingered around, smiling and chatting.

As soon as Olivia got off her board, she stepped down from it pushed a few buttons on her watch.  A neon blue light surrounded her board, which caused it to break down into multiple pixels and disappear.  Darwin did the same.  Olivia threw off her hood, and she felt the tension of the students rise.  She smirked in satisfaction as she looked at them.

"There she is."  Somebody whispered.

"Why does she have to act as if she owns the place?"  Another person said.

"Because she does, you idiot!"  Somebody replied.

"The witch with the golden arm, Olivia Flynn..."  Olivia heard somebody say.  "You don't think she could be the one....could she...?"

Olivia held in a scoff.  She detested that nickname with a fierce passion.  Yet, she could very easily lose her grip if she let her emotions get the better of her.

"Who really knows?"  Another person replied.  "Maybe she really does deal in the black magics..."

Olivia felt her fists clench.  She looked at the ground, trying not to grit her teeth.  "I quit that."  She said loudly.  Everybody fell silent.  "I gave up using dark magic a long time ago.  It makes you power hungry and corrupt if you use for too long."

"Dude, she freaking heard you!"  The person who said her hated nickname said.  She looked at the person.  It was a guy, most likely in her class.  He had beautiful blonde hair that just touched his shoulders, and caring emerald green eyes.  His joking smile made Olivia feel warm when she saw it, and she felt her face heat up.  Their eyes met, and his smile faded into a worried expression.

He's concerned about me, and yet, I don't think I've ever talked to him....Olivia thought.  Why on earth am I just staring at him, blushing?  I have to say something....!

Olivia held up her left hand as a shy greeting, and managed to get out a small "hi."

"Hi"?  "HI"!?  That's the best I can do?!

Darwin gave her a small push, more like a nudge, and she walked over towards him.  She stopped when they were about twenty paces from each other.

"Um..."  Olivia said quietly.  "You're in one of my classes, right...?"  She suppressed a groan.  That was hardly a mumble.

"What?"  The boy asked.  "I'm sorry, but you're talking a little too low for me to hear..."

Olivia's blush grew deeper.  "Which class are you in with me?"  She asked, a little louder.

"Um...science, I think, why?"  The boy asked.

"Oh, yeah, that's right.  You sit near the front, don't you?"  A name popped into her head.  "Leviathan, right?  Aaron Leviathan?"

"Y-y-yeah."  Aaron said.  "Th-that's me."

"It's....it's a very beautiful name, Aaron...."  Olivia said.  "It suits you quite well..."

She noticed that Aaron wore a pair of aviator goggles around his neck, and had several ink stains on his hands.  Some were a few days old, others were just a few hours.

"Do you like to draw, Aaron?"  Olivia asked.

Aaron was silent.  A strong breeze blew through the courtyard, causing the girls' skirts to start to fly up.  Like the others, Olivia instinctively grabbed it and tried to keep it down, but dropped her tote that she had been carrying.  Aaron walked over and grabbed it for her.  Without thinking, she grabbed the handle with her left hand, and he froze.  He felt the cold metal through the glove.

Olivia turned and started to run, but tripped and fell.  She got up and ran off, trying hard not to cry.  Darwin put one hand on her shoulder, but brushed it off.  She looked back at Aaron, still standing there, a sad look on his face.  He looked as if he was about to say her name, but stopped and shook his head.  As she walked away, she mouthed the word "don't."

Don't feel sorry for me.  Please.  Don't try to figure me out.  Don't try to fix me.  I'm broken beyond repair, and I'll only leave you with the coldness that's in my heart.  So, please, Aaron, help another girl with your incredible smile.  Just...don't let that girl be me.

Two girls walked up to them, both of them with cerulean hair, cut into a reverse bob that framed their faces perfectly.  They looked at each other, then to Darwin.  He made a slight shake of his head, saying to not bring the subject up.  They nodded.

"Hey, you two."  The on the right said, her pale slate gray eyes filled with mild concern.  "What took you guys so long to get here, get here?"

"Sorry, Ryika, Reina, it's kind of my fault."  Olivia said.  "I overslept again..."

"Hey, it's no big deal."  The one on the left said, smiling.  Her eyes were a beautiful pale dahlia pink.  "Another mission, I presume?"

Olivia nodded.  Ryika and Reina Masume had came to Danville only three years ago.  They were fraternal twins with almost identical appearances and personalities, but there were two ways to tell them apart:  Their eyes and their verbal tics.  Whenever Reina was excited or scared about something, she would often repeat the last two or three words of her sentence.  It took a lot more for Ryika to feel the same way, but whenever she did, she would often become quiet and not say anything.  Whenever she did, though, her voice would be at a slightly lower pitch, and she would speak quite cryptically.  Conversely, Reina would get worried or happy about the slightest thing, and her voice would go higher in pitch.

"Heh."  Darwin said, one hand in his dark walnut hair.  "Another mission that ended with her out cold again."  He looked at her wrist.  "Why don't you just your book?  You made the summoning bracelet just for things like what's been happening recently."

"Because I want to be kept unknown."  Olivia said tiredly.  They walked through the front courtyard and into the main building of the school, where they sat around a small table in the cafeteria in the back of the room.  The cafeteria was located behind two sets of automatically sliding doors, made completely of holographic materials, just beyond the foyer, where the main offices were located--the attendance office right in front, the faculty offices in a room to the right, and the nurse's office to the left.  There were also outside courtyards, dotted with picnic tables here and there in beautiful garden areas.

"Unknown?  Really?"  Darwin asked.  "Is that it?"

"You know me better than anybody here, Darwin.  Even more than Claudia and Bradley.  Maybe even moreso than Quinn, in fact."  Olivia replied.  "You know the truth behind my arm, which is something even my parents don't know."

"...Olivia..."  Darwin said softly.  "You know that.....what happened....it wasn't...!"

"Yes, I do, Darwin!"  Olivia snapped, her eyes glowing slightly in anger.  "You weren't there that day, and you don't what the truth!"  She lowered her head, and her eyes started to go black and opaque.  "There's only two people who know what really happened...Only two people...know the true happenstance of that day....Two....people....Two people......Two people...."  She began chanting it over and over in a delirious monotonous voice, like some strange, demented mantra.  She clutched her forearms in a strange hugging position.

"Hey, snap out of it, out of it!"  Reina said, her eyes wide in fright.  "You're scaring me, scaring me!"

The heat of the flames was searing...

"Olivia, you need to snap out of this!"  Darwin said.  "Wake up already!"

"Two people.....Two people.....Two.....people...."  Olivia whispered, oblivious to her friends' concerns.

The screams never left her head.  She knew that it was impossible for them to....

"Ryika, can't you think of something?!"  Darwin protested.  "You're good in handling situations like this. Help us!"

"......Why should I help a broken, pitiful doll that can't even stand on its own learn to walk in the first place?"  Ryika said.  "Such things should be thrown away once proven to be not of its worth."

Even though she knew that it was useless, she wanted to go back in.  Go back in...so that she couldn't be so helpless.

"Listen to your friends, Olivia."  A warm voice said in Olivia's ear, breaking her thoughts.  "They're very precious to you, aren't they?"

"Yes."  Olivia said.  "My friends...they're basically my life."

"Then, you want them to be happy, right?"  The voice said.  "Not scared, or worried, or sad?"  Olivia nodded.  She folded her hands in her lap and closed her eyes.

"My friends are the ones who've kept me sane for so long..."  Olivia said.  "I don't know what would happen to me without them..."  She smiled and laid her hands on her chest.

"Then, whenever you feel this way again, just think of your friends."  The voice replied, and she heard the movement of clothes as the person got up.  When she opened her eyes and looked up, she saw the back of Aaron walking away from her.

"Thank you, Aaron..."  She whispered.

The bell rang for school to start, and everybody left to get to their first period class.

***

First period for Olivia was peer guidance.  It took place in Spiral 1, Chamber B, which was located, if one was looking at the school from the front, in the closest right spiral.  The way the spirals were organized was that there were two separate chambers:  Each one was about five metres long in height, with the exception of chamber C, and about ten in width.  Chamber A was the first chamber students entered, and if they had to go Chamber B or C, they climbed the small set of stairs in the back.  The third chamber was located under the point of the spiral.

As Olivia stepped onto the hover elevator with the other students, she felt strangely out of place, like she was a freshman on her first day again.  She was aware of the other people around her, but she felt alone at the same time.

Olivia silently walked through Chamber A and to the flight of stairs, which she took to the landing with the holographic sliding door.  Just one step closer and she would open the door and be sucked in.

Either way, she would have to take that step.  She was blocking traffic to Chamber C.

As Olivia walked in, she looked at the others in the class with her.  The peer guidance class was small, with only about ten students.  This was mainly because Danville required it only for the students who were, as the mayor put it, "wayward."  In other words, the students who constantly get picked on, pick on other students, were loners, or just antisocial.

Olivia fit into two of those catagories.

The ten students who were in her class also fit into the two catagories.  Many of them were the antisocial types, about five of them, three were loners, one was constantly picked on, and the last one didn't fit into any of the four catagories.  She just mainly sat in the corner, not talking to anybody.  Just observing everything through her light pink hair.  The teacher constantly tried to get her to talk, but nothing would work.  She would just look at the teacher with her large, sad crimson eyes.

That day, there was a substitute teacher.  His bushy black mustache moved whenever he talked, giving the impression that he had no upper lip.  Olivia entertained herself with the notion that he didn't even an upper lip at all, and that he was born with a lower lip and a giant mustache.  It made her feel a little better.

"My name is Mr. Dickenson."  The teacher said.  The board behind him wrote his name.  "I will be your peer guidance teacher while your original one is on maternity leave.  Please listen to your name for roll call."  A digital pad materialized in front of him.  "Lucy Allans?"

Lucy, the girl in the back, silently raised her hand.  Mr. Dickenson didn't notice, and called out her name again.  Lucy stood up this time.

"Miss, we're taking roll call."  Mr. Dickenson said.  "Whatever you need to do can wait until afterwards."

Lucy brushed her hair out of her face, revealing her pale, almost white skin.  She walked to the front of the class and pointed to her name.

"Oh, you're Lucy, huh?"  Mr. Dickenson asked.  Lucy nodded.  "Please, give a verbal response for roll call next time.  I almost marked you absent."

"She doesn't talk."  Olivia said.  "Never has.  Not even once."

"I can talk."  Lucy suddenly said.  Everybody was alert as soon as she opened her mouth.  "It's just that I have nothing to talk about, or anybody to talk to.  So, I stay silent."

Lucy walked back to her seat, giving a silent glance towards Olivia as she did.  That was when Olivia saw the scars.

Faint scars ran along her face and neck, like ghostly shadows.  The largest one ran over her left eye, and curved towards her ear.  She noticed the same scars on her hands and wrists, except her wrists were covered in what looked like fresh and scabbing slashes.

After roll call was over, Olivia sat down next to Lucy.

"Hey, Lucy."  She said.  Lucy didn't look up from her drawing.  "That's a pretty drawing."  It was of a faerie asleep in a plum rose.  She noticed that the faerie's hair was in two braids, black with a hint of carmine red.  "It is supposed to be of me?"  Lucy nodded.  "I see..."  Lucy erased the faerie's eyes, which were closed, and redrew them open and opaque.  "I saw the scars, Lucy."  Lucy finally looked up at Olivia.  "You can't hide them forever, you know."  She pulled up her left sleeve to reveal faint marks on her wrist.  "I was just like you, once."

"What made you stop?"  Lucy asked.

"I realized that I needed to stop kidding myself and just live again."  Olivia explained.  "That even if nobody seems to give a damn about me, that there's still people out there who are worried about me.  That I need to let go of whatever happened in the past and just move on, even if it still haunts me.  My friends are what keep me moving on, and if that's what takes to make you move on, just one friend, then I'll be happy to be that one person.  Something tells me that you're a really nice girl, Lucy."

"A....friend?"  Lucy asked.

"Yeah.  You know, somebody who's there to support you and stuff."  Olivia replied.  "Though, to be honest, I'm not a very good friend.  You've heard the rumours about me, right?"

"Yeah.  I don't believe them, though."  Lucy said.  "I'd be glad to have a friend like you, Olivia.  I often see you and your friends, and it looks like so much fun to hang out with you guys."

"Okay, then, consider it done!"  Olivia said.  "Come by the outdoor market after school."

"Um...what's done?"  Lucy asked.

"You and me are now officially friends!"  Olivia replied, standing up and pulling Lucy with her.  "You need to meet the rest of my friends, too, so don't forget.  Market after school.  Got it?"

"Got it."  Lucy replied, smiling.  "Hey, what are you guys talking about?"  She walked over to the circle of other students and sat down with them.  Olivia followed.

"We were just talking about what it's like to be forced in an environment that you don't want to be in."  One of the loners said, then looked at Olivia with a suspicious glance.  His slate gray eyes pierced her as if she was a piece of meat for skewering.

"What?  I didn't use any magic on her."  Olivia said.  "All she wanted was a friend, that's all."

"So, you're like her, huh?"  The student who got constantly picked on asked, glancing towards Olivia.  "A loner and antisocial?"

Lucy shrugged.  "To be honest, I'm not sure why I got placed in this class.  I actually moved here the day before the first day of school."

"Oh, that explains why I don't remember seeing you before this year."  One of the antisocial students replied.

After a while, they began talking and laughing, like normal high school students.  Mr. Dickenson began writing something down extremely fast.

"Look you guys, Dickenson is all flustered because we can function normally!"  Lucy said, laughing.  "Maybe he thinks we're just faking it."

"Probably."  Olivia said.  "Man, that guy can write!  Look at that stylus fly...Oh, by the way..."  She lowered her voice to a whisper, and everybody leaned in.  "Anybody thinks that he doesn't have an upper lip, just that giant mustache?"

Everybody practically fell over laughing.

"Oh, dude, that's so true!  It so looks like it!"  One of the guys said.  "Oh, man, I can't breathe!"

Olivia kept trying to stop, but couldn't keep her laughter in.  It felt great to laugh, like some sort of bottle had been opened inside her, letting out all the tension.

Eventually, the bell rang, and everybody left for their second class.  Olivia had photography next, which wasn't very far from where she was.  All she had to do was take the platform elevator to the third floor and take a left turn to get to the class.

Olivia spent most of her time in the dark room, processing photos she took of landscapes.  She would take more later on, when the Halloween festival was going on--it was always on the day before Halloween so that children and teens didn't have to miss out on trick or treating.

She looked at the picture that had finished developing and smiled.  It was of a beautiful blue sky, with white puffy clouds dotted here and there.  She had gotten a slight sun streak coming in from the upper right.  It made her feel tranquil and at ease just looking at it.

Some student began pounding on the door.  "Hey, others need to use the dark room, too!"  He said.

"Sorry, I'll be right out."  Olivia said.  She hung her pictures to dry and left.

"Hey, Olivia, are you alright?"  Somebody asked.  She looked to see a girl with light green hair in swooping bangs and what looked like a messy pixie cut walking towards her.  She had a small bandage on her right cheek, under her left eye, and on her nose.

"Oh, hey Claudia."  Olivia replied.  "I'm fine.  Honest."  She faked a smile so that her cousin wouldn't worry about her.

"You're like a book nowadays.  You know that, right?"  Claudia replied, and sat down on one of the chairs.  She motioned for Olivia to sit next to her, and she did.  "Listen, okay?  You need to stop pushing yourself so hard.  You can't keep up this act forever, you know."

"How do you know that?"  Olivia asked.  "I'm stronger than I look.  I've been having good control of my emotions lately."

"There's more than that!  What about your little breakdown this morning?"

"That's irrelevant to this discussion!  So, I had a little slip, that's all.  What's wrong with that?"

"You've been avoiding looking at the picture over there with a passion."

Olivia made herself glance over there to where Claudia was pointing.  A picture of a redheaded girl with beautiful light emerald green eyes.  Her light green V-neck long sleeved shirt matched her eyes.  That was all the picture showed--it was a bust shot.  Her facial expression was strange:  She had a genuine smile, but her eyes gleaned with sadness.

"It was your best portrait, too."  Claudia went on.  "Then, you just....stopped.  You only take them once a year now."

Olivia sighed.  "Rose..."

"I know how you feel, Olivia."  Claudia said, and placed one hand on her shoulder.

"No, you, don't!"  Olivia yelled, and practically threw Claudia over her shoulder.  "Stop faking sympathy for me, because it never helps!"

Claudia looked at her cousin straight in the eye.  "Control of your emotions, my foot."

The bell rang for class to be over, and Claudia walked out.

***

Cooking class cheered Olivia up a little more, but not by much.  They made sugar cookies and brownies that day, and Olivia decided to sneaky and add in extra chocolate to her brownie mix.

As well as chocolate chips.

To keep the chocolate chips from sinking to the bottom, Olivia baked the brownies halfway, then added in the chocolate chips in.  Naturally, that made the teacher suspicious when she pulled out uncooked brownies and set them on the counter.  She walked over to Olivia's station, and saw Olivia pouring chocolate chips into the batter.

"Quite an interesting thing you've got going on there, Miss Flynn."  She said.

"Oh, Mrs. Glimmerstone."  Olivia said.  "I wanted to add chocolate chips to my brownies, but if I just put it in the batter, they'd sink.  So, baking the brownies twice helps them stay at the top and middle."

"I never knew that."  Mrs. Glimmerstone replied.  "Do you like brownies that way?"

"I prefer them with extra chocolate and a touch of fudge."  Olivia answered.  "But, these are for a friend."  The oven dinged.  "Oh, that's for the sugar cookies.  I'd better pull them out before they burn..."

When the bell rang for class to end, Olivia had made two dozen brownies and three dozen sugar cookies.  She put four brownies in a plastic bag, separate from the rest, and five sugar cookies in a different bag.  Mrs. Glimmerstone didn't question her.

***

Fourth period was science.  She carried the bag of sugar cookies with her to her class, and sat down at her spot by the window until Aaron walked in.

"Um..."  Olivia said.  She finally thrust the bag into his hand.  "For this morning.  They're sugar cookies, as a thank you.  Just...take them so that I don't look like an idiot, okay?"

"You didn't have to do this, you know."  Aaron replied.  He grabbed the bag, his fingertips brushing against hers.  "But I'm glad to accept.  You know, you don't have to put up a barrier against everyone you meet.  I think that underneath, you're a really kind person."  He smiled.

"I...I don't know what to say....Um, I'd better...you know...get back to my seat..."  Olivia fumbled with her words, blushing once again, and tried hard not to run back to her seat.  He has such a gentlemanly charm to him, it's so hard to resist being shy around him...Could I really be falling for him....?

Aaron couldn't stop glancing towards the direction she was in.  I wonder what she thinks of me...It's clear that she's the one, though.  I just need to get her to stop being so nervous around me, though!  He let his mind wander for a bit.  She sits by the windows...I wonder what that says about her personality...

EDIT:  I can't believe I almost forgot about the song.  Here's the link to it if you want to listen:  www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwrLFM…

That is all. </b>

I'm sorry, you guys, but I was listening to the Elfen Lied theme while writing the peer group class scene.  I just needed that reference in there somewhere.

Anyways, guess who I was inspired by for Crow?  It should be obvious if you've played Last Specter...

This chapter is long.  Very long.  It was going to be longer, but I decided to cut it off there so that it wouldn't be, like, one third of the story in one chapter.

Yes, Ryika and Reina are basically Rika and Rena from Higurashi:  When They Cry.  DON'T JUDGE ME, APOLLO JUSTICE READS THE MANGAS(I think/hope...)

Also, I was listening to Clannad music when writing the Aaron scenes.  It's the proof of why I shouldn't listen to Clannad songs while writing this fic.  Whatever, I'm still going to do it.
